In 2018, the University of Miami presented Mr. Kane with an award in appreciation for his service to its Planned Giving Advisory Board, on which he currently serves as a Board Member.

Mr. Kane has previously been appointed as a Special Magistrate, Court Appointed Receiver, and Guardian/ Attorney/ Administrator Ad Litem in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court in and for Miami-Dade County.

Mr. Kane frequently lectures on the topics of probate administration, estate planning and charitable planning. He was a faculty presenter at the 2020 National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA) annual conference and a faculty presenter at the 2019 Florida Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (FMDA) annual conference, where he lectured on the legal and ethical implications involving the use of Advanced Directives. He also authored “What Every Estate Planning Attorney Should Know About Florida Homestead Law” that appeared in the October 2009 edition of Wealth Counsel’s Quarterly.
